Written by Jennifer Johnson and based on a true story, this Bloomin’ Buds Theatre Company production tells the chilling coming-of-age experience of a Bradford lass called Shelly born in 1959, and her brave fight against the cycles of domestic abuse.
Following the performance will be a Q&A with the cast and production team about the making of the show and the themes it explores.

About the Performer
Maeve Brannen
Maeve Brannen is a theatre facilitator, actor, and artistic director. Maeve graduated with a first-class degree BA HONS in Theatre and Performance from the University of Leeds. She has since been working with a range of artists, participants, and communities in creative projects for the Leeds Playhouse, Harrogate Theatre and Leeds 2023 and worked as a performer for Sneaky Experiences Theatre Company. Maeve is the co-founder and artistic director Fishtale Theatre company, performing in their debut show to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2022 Maeve began working with Bloomin Buds Theatre company in April 2023 sharing a passion for better access and inclusion in the arts and telling working-class stories.
