Few, if any, people are held in such high esteem as Nelson Mandela. His life’s work as an activist, politician and passionate advocate for equality touched millions of lives and his global reputation remains intact.
Anti-apartheid campaigner Lord Peter Hain, who has had his own extraordinary political career, and Hassan Abedin will look back on Mandela’s legacy in the pursuit of peace, justice and reconciliation in South Africa and beyond, and consider how that legacy is viewed today.

Labour member of the House of Lords, author and life-long human rights campaigner.
Hassan Abdein
Hassan A. Abdein, Ph.d is a senior advisor to Unitas Communications. He is also a consultant in mediation and conflict resolution and has extensive experience working with multilateral organisations in the fields of advocacy for refugees, minorities and religious freedom. Hassan held senior roles in the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and worked on OIC-UN efforts to tackle intolerance, discrimination, incitement to violence against people on the basis of religion or belief.
