Richard O’Neill

Richard O’Neill is a multi-award award winning, Storyteller, Author and workshop leader based in the North of England, he delivers storytelling skills training sessions in a wide range of settings across Europe, from educational settings to some of the largest charities, cultural and business organisations.
He is the recipient of the ‘National Literacy Hero’ award, the Beacon Leadership Award for community development and inclusion, and a Royal Literary Society Award. And currently the Creative Lead at Seven Stories the National centre for children’s books.Raised in a traditional nomadic Romani family, he has a particular focus on using story in all its forms to promote inclusion and social mobility. He is published by Childsplay International, Pearson, Scholastic, Harper Collins and Bloomsbury, his books have received teacher awards in the UK and ‘Book-list’ awards in the USA and an Aesop medal.He is Co-Founder of Diverse Book Week, TOTTT publishing, he is currently working on his new project The Northern Storytelling Academy.
