About the Author
Lucy Cuzzocrea
A forager, activist, sustainable food grower, creative, mother, and wife, Lucy Cuzzocrea lives in the beautiful countryside of North East England.
She was raised in Middlesbrough, one of the most socially deprived areas in the whole country, and has many experiences of how poverty and trauma can affect those who live in areas like ours. As she matured into her adult years, Lucy started to question the systems we rely on and why food didn’t simply grow everywhere, for free. She studied Graphic Design at university and learned about capitalism, consumerism and globalisation and the huge detrimental impact it is having on both people and planet. Ever since, she been trying to do her bit to reverse that damage and change her little area of society for the better. And this is where Wild Roots Foraging was born. Wild Roots Foraging is all about helping people reconnect with the earth, their community and with themselves, through the forgotten, ancient practices of our ancestors. The goal is to reclaim what has been forgotten in the hope of helping people find the healing that is needed, for both people and planet.
