About the Speakers
Daniel Levy
Daniel Levy is the President of the U.S./Middle East Project (USMEP), focusing on de-escalation and conflict resolution in the Middle East with an emphasis on Palestine-Israel. From 2012 to 2016, Levy was Director for the Middle East and North Africa at the European Council on Foreign Relations. Prior to that he was a senior Fellow and Director of the New America Foundation’s Middle East Taskforce in Washington DC and a Senior Fellow at The Century Foundation in New York. Levy has also worked as a senior government advisor and attended the Israel/Palestine peace talks at Taba and Oslo B. Levy is a Council Member of ECFR, co-founder of J Street, founder of the newly formed Diaspora Alliance (combatting antisemitism and its conflation) and serves on the board of the European Middle East Project. He is a former Trustee of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund in New York.
Dr Myriam François
Myriam François, is an English journalist, filmmaker and writer. Her work has appeared on the BBC, Channel 4 and Al Jazeera. She is the founder and CEO of production company MPWR productions, which specialises in documentary films which centre on minoritised voices.
Professor Paul Rogers
Paul Rogers is Emeritus Professor of Peace Studies at the University of Bradford, and an Honorary Fellow of the UK Defence Academy. He is a biologist by original training, lecturing at Imperial College and also working in tropical crop research in East Africa. From later lecturing in environmental science, he moved to Bradford in 1979 and has worked primarily on the changing causes of international conflict, especially in relation to political violence. A fourth edition of his book, Losing Control: Global Security in the 21st Century, was published by Pluto Press last July.

Aaqil Ahmed
Professor Aaqil Ahmed is the former Head of Religion and Ethics at both the BBC and Channel 4. He is currently a Media, communications and diversity consultant and a Professor in media. Aaqil is a Non Executive Director of a number of organisations including The Advertising Standards Authority, OFCOM and The Higher Education Funding Council for Wales.
