About the Comedians

Shaparak Khorsandi

Shappi Khorsandi is one of the country’s finest comedians. Since kicking off with a sellout Edinburgh Show, Asylum Speaker in 2006. Her career has taken her to all corners of the globe, she has appeared on countless TV & Radio shows including Live At The Apollo, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Have I Got News For You, QI, The Graham Norton Show and Friday Night with Jonathan Ross. She is the author of the bestselling childhood memoir, A Beginner’s Guide To Acting English which tells the story of how her family were forced to flee Iran and gain asylum in the UK.

Aurie Styla

Aurie Styla

Aurie Styla is an award-winning comedian, actor, and writer from London. Known for his charismatic and versatile performances, Aurie has firmly established himself as a powerhouse in the UK comedy scene.

Scott Bennett

In 2023 Scott recorded his first Radio 4 special Stuff for BBC Radio 4 and in the same year he supported Mickey Flanagan on tour including a 10,000 seat arena show in Nottingham.

In 2021 he recorded his debut for Live at the Apollo BBC1. You will have heard him as a regular guest on BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz, The Now Show, The Likely Dads and Elephant in the Room with Sarah Millican. He also appeared on The Summer Festival with Daliso Chaponda, The Comedy Club with Arthur Smith, and Knock Knock with Helen Lederer. In 2018, he also featured on BBC’s The One Show, Live from The Edinburgh Fringe.

In 2017 and 18 Scott supported his comedy hero, Rob Brydon on his National UK tour dates for his latest show I Am Standing Up and was selected to do a support slots for Jason Manford and John Bishop. He also worked alongside Michael McIntyre as part of his work in progress shows at the Duchess Theatre in London with Keri Godliman, Russell Kane and Ed Gamble.

Tez Ilyas

The star of Man Like Mobeen (BBC Three) and Live at The Apollo (BBC Two), Tez has also appeared on, The Last Leg (Channel 4), Mock the Week (BBC Two) and The Apprentice: You’re Fired (BBC Two).

Priya Hall

Priya Hall is a stand-up comedian and writer known for her appearances on Comedy Central Live, BBC Presents: Stand Up for Live Comedy, and Live From Aberystwyth Pier. She has written and starred in the BBC 2 Wales pilot Beena and Amrit and the BBC Radio Wales sitcom of the same name. Priya was a semi-finalist in the BBC New Comedy Awards 2021 and has written for the revival of the BBC Three sitcom Bad Education.
