Christa Ackroyd, a proud Bradfordian and veteran journalist, Presenting Yorkshire Television’s Calendar and BBC’s Look North. With forty years in journalism, she now writes a weekly column for the Yorkshire Post. Part of the committee that acquired the Brontes’ birthplace in Thornton, she admires the sisters for their resilience against gender bias. Inspired by their determination, she aims to showcase their spirit in her own birthplace, encouraging visitors, especially the youth, to dream big.
