About the Speakers
Ömer Faruk Yeni
Ömer Faruk Yeni, a cultural consultant and editor, boasts global collaborations with prestigious institutions like Paramount Pictures and Sorbonne University. With degrees in Business Administration and Arts Management, his expertise spans continents. He’s influenced cultural narratives in cities like London, Istanbul, Granada, and Fes, contributing to leading museums and festivals. Formerly managing Rumi’s Cave in London, He now organizes retreat programs titled Meetings with Masters, connecting seekers with art and spirituality masters in Turkey. A familiar presence on TV shows and panels, his insights enrich discussions on cultural exchange. Currently crafting his debut graphic novel..
Khizra Ahmed
Khizra Ahmed, a versatile mixed media artist, specializes in graphic design, animation, and textiles. Currently studying Graphic and Media Design at UAL, she’s passionate about storytelling and design. Notable for curating an exhibition on her grandfather’s partition story at London City Hall, and co-directing a documentary for the 75th Windrush anniversary. Her freelance work includes clients like London City Hall and Amaliah. Khizra also engages in film festival programming, heritage workshops, and has landscape design experience. Known for her openness to creative opportunities, she’s always exploring new avenues for expression and collaboration.
About the Author
Hiba Noor Khan
Hiba Noor Khan is the author of six books for children, including her picture book – The Little War Cat, non-fiction; Inspiring Inventors, and One Home, and her debut novel; Safiyyah’s War, which has been shortlisted for the prestigious Carnegie Medal. Her books have been recognised by numerous national awards and have been translated into over ten languages. Her academic background is in engineering/physics, and she has worked as a journalist, a refugee advocate, assisted the United Nations IOM, and has recently completed an MA at SOAS exploring Muslim Minorities in Global Contexts. She has three fluffy cats and is happiest when surrounded by nature.
