Description
Reinvigorate your mind and spirit with this special Tai Chi session, led by an expert practitioner from Yorkshire Tai Chi.
The art of Tai Chi was a closely-guarded secret, with its mysterious origins debated for centuries, but it is thought to date back to the practice of a 14th-century Taoist monk.
Thanks to its health benefits being promoted by several famous names in the 20th century, it developed a global following, with its focus on gentle movements bringing a sense of clarity and calm.
In this session, you can experience the system of coordinated body posture and movement by learning some simple moves of your own.
About the Workshop Leader
Bar, Yorkshire Tai Chi
Since Bars first taste of taiji in Hong Kong in 1999, he has had the opportunity to return to mainland China a number of times to further his studies. Taiji is a fantastic exercise for today’s busy lifestyles. He likes that it looks so easy, but that belies its powerful effects. Dr. Michael Mosley found that doing taiji created a similar rise in heart rate to doing zumba! A lot harder to measure is the excellent effects practicing taiji has on the mind. His goal as a teacher is to give people a taste of the inner peace and strength that comes from taiji.
