How it works

Refunds will not be issued to those who do not attend.

Tickets for Bradford Literature Festival events are sold on an individual event basis, therefore tickets must be purchased separately for each event that you wish to attend.

Tickets must be shown to gain entry to your event. As part of our commitment to being an environmentally-ethical festival we do not post out paper tickets as standard. Tickets will be sent via email and can be shown on a smartphone or other device at the event. You can also print these tickets at home if you would prefer.

The price of tickets may vary and will be clearly stated against each individual event listing. All ticket prices are inclusive of VAT and booking fee.

Late comers to events may be refused admittance. Terms and conditions apply for refunds, please refer to our Terms and Conditions page for further details.

Which Events Does BLF’s Ethical Ticketing Policy Apply to

The Ethical Ticketing Policy applies to all BLF events, except Mushaira: An Evening of Urdu Poetry, Brontë Heritage Bus Tours and Northern Noir At The Bar.

Proof of entitlement

If you have purchased a concession ticket, you may be asked to provide proof of appropriate concession status to gain entry to the event.

We accept the following forms of identification:

  • Disability – letters from Disability Support Services, Personal Independence Payment (PIP) letters, appropriate travel/leisure cards, and blue badges
  • Student – a valid student card. We accept NUS as well as cards issued by your school, college or university
  • Senior citizen – photographic ID which can include a passport, driver’s license, bus pass or other form of recognised identification
  • State pension – we appreciate that it may not be possible to prove that a state pension is your sole source of income, therefore we operate an honesty policy for this ticket concession
  • Benefits recipient – a recent letter or any government document (dated within three months) which states that you are in receipt of benefits, or living in social housing.

Please do not worry if you don’t have the above stated documentation. You can contact us ahead of your visit for advice and we will always look to accommodate your needs.
